Charlie update

Okay so Charlie is now just over 8 months old and is doing great. He's been completely house trained now for about 8 weeks (AT LAST!!!) - that was really hard work with him! He's very obedient, but only when I tell him which annoys my husband!! He's still doing that growl thing he's always done which has got me into arguments when I'm out with him but I know it's not a mean growl, problem is, if a staffy (especially one as big as Charlie) trots up to someone growling to say hi, they automatically think they're gonna get their head ripped off and for some reason they don't seem to like that idea

His recall is fantastic when we're out apart from when there are other dogs around and I know I'm just going to have to be patient with that cos as a puppy, albeit a very large one, he just wants to play with every dog he meets.

Charlie has started challenging me a little, especially when I'm telling him off, but he soon backs down and goes into his crate sulking. Again, I think this is just down to his age. He is as soft as ever, fantastic with my children and any others we see and he's settled very, very well into the new house. I've managed to get him to do his business in just one little corner of the garden so it's easy for me to clean up and my children know not to play near it, and there has been no marking in the house which I was expecting because it's new.

He really is such a darling and I love him to death. I just could not imagine life without him

Magic, (sorry to be the first to post) I love to hear how he is doing after the hard beggining! Loving the the growl bit, Moo does it and scares the hell out of my mum and she has her 3 times a week. She also bares all her teeth whilst she does it, very strange, only when I get home!

Janey I'm glad Moo does it too cos I've never heard of another dog growling constantly but in a friendly way

Well done charlie sounds like he's doing really well, oh and harvey always does the random growly thing as well
