barring teeth
Whilst in play last night Elsie was trying to bite my hands. normally a sharp no will stop this .but she over stepped the mark by barring her teeth and growling at me. This was stopped immediately with time out. This morning she has done the same thing to my other half. We know that they play rough. but is this something different. What is going on with her she is coming up for 6 months.

baring teeth
She could just be testing you. Try ignoring her completely when she does it.

Re: barring teeth
She's turning into a teenager and pushing boundaries. Just keep doing what you've been doing, be consistent and you'll get through.

Re: barring teeth
Definitely not aggression at that age, she's still a pup. Everyone has the same worry xx

Re: barring teeth
Your puppy is lovely who loves humans and you (mum) to bits, shes only wanting to play and push you, nothing to worry about. while dogs are smart there not able to think like us so they dont know whats right and wrong sometimes,so keep being firm but fair with her and she will be fine

Re: barring teeth
She's going a bit OTT with her play, a firm NO then turn your back, that way she will soon catch on that this is unwanted behaviour.

Re: barring teeth
It can be a little daunting when they do this, Darcy has done this in the past, pushing boundaries, back to basics will help solve the problem, definitely not aggression

Re: barring teeth
I'd agree that, especially at only 6 months old, this is just boisterous play. The dog's body language needs to be noticed as well as just growls and teeth to ascertain whether the dog is being aggressive or playful - have a read of http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/is_my_dog_aggressive to reassure yourself!

Re: barring teeth
agree with all the above posts, dont worry its definitely not aggression, just a rude little pup that has forgotten her manners and pushing her luck ,most go through it,stick with what your doing and she'll soon be back on track
