Re: update demodex
How long has he been on it, Thistle finished hers in December after a 3 month treatment, no rash under her armpits anymore but still small patches of hair loss on her back.

Re: update demodex
Not sure whether I should take Thistle back to the vets to just get her checked after having read a thread that says they can grow out of it, she's in season atm so I will wait until that's over and see how it goes, maybe try neem, she's already had 3 months on advocate.

Re: update demodex
noticed more patches yesterday , but been told this could be hair thats was damaged by the mites ,plus have read that the life cycle of demodex mite is 24/35 days, its such a worry

Re: update demodex
Hi Di, because the worst of the demodex has cleared up after her 3 month treatment, but the patches on her back are coming back, I have to admit I have not been back to the vets to get her checked, so it could just be that the mites are still present and she needs further treatment, but I just think worse case scenario because she's had everything else going, and fulfills all the criteria. She had a few lumpy spots when she was 8 weeks, the vet thought nothing of them, I'm not a vets best fan tbh

Re: update demodex
Yes Di Google can sometimes do more harm than good, I'm a worrier anyway, but I echo your comment regarding hair growth, I will keep an eye on it, Thistle is just mid season so I don't want to stress her out at the moment, so the vet will have to wait.
