Awww, i'm sure everything will go well tomorrow for her, and hoping she'll be as bright as a button and back to her normal self really quick.
Good girl for being on your bestest behaviour Now you've just gotta keep it up and make Mummy even more proud

Holly looks gorgeous, do you mind me asking why you're having her spayed so young?

Although i dont no the exact reason she is getting spayed i would like to point out for holly its by far the best thing health wise ie cancer etc and mel knows shes not going to breed her so its best to be safe than sorry xSkyBlue wrote:Holly looks gorgeous, do you mind me asking why you're having her spayed so young?

Re: Tomorrow is D day for Holly
I was just curious. I had my dobe spayed at 6 months before she had a season and she ended up with spay incontinence. Have learnt a lot since then and believe its better for the dog to have a season or two before being spayed. Obviously Mel has her reasons for spaying earlier and its her choice at the end of the day

Re: Tomorrow is D day for Holly
Hi there...
GOD IT WAS HORRIBLE.... I was a shaking mess... I would have rathered give one of the kids over ( terrible i know).. I drove my mum mental all day worrying about her.... the vet told me she would call as soon as she woke up...
by 5.30 last night i was starting to panic...
phone rings
" Hi Mel".....
" yes"....
" I am soooooo sorry......" ( my heart sank and I thought i was going to vomit!!)
" I am soooo sorrry it has taken me all day to call... we have had a rough day. Holly is perfect and is rest in her crate well.... ".... gave me a friggin heart attack...
dont start a phone call with the sound of death on your voice lady!
ahhhhhh
anyway i have called this morning ( prior to feeding my kids of course pmsl) and she is Happy... not licking at her wound and has eated ( no suprise there) and seems happy to relax in her crate...
thank god i crate trained.. the next few days should be much easier..
the reason that I did it at 6 months isnt really my choice...
1. there are 4 males living within 30m of my house....
2.. Our local council fines you if you have not registered your de sexed dog or registered it in a breeding programe... if there were health issues i could have had an extention... sucks really..
3. Like Blaze said... I dont want an accident... she is just to special to me
Well I am off to pick her up.. bought her a collar from a rescue centre on line... they hand make them and the money goes to helping the other dogs..
if i cant take one home I can at least feed one with all the bloody stuff i buy lol
i will post a pic when i get a chance and let you all know how she settles in
Marty... it is good to be back.., I had some health issues which i am sure you were aware of... everything is wonderful at the moment and i am fiting fit and healthy... just need to keep me that way now
chat real soon
xx

Re: Tomorrow is D day for Holly
Heya,
Well were are a week into the recovery.. And we have had a small hiccup.. Holly just wouldnt sit still so she had a little lump form under the cut... nothign to worry about as it has gone away now but it was a build up of fluid cause she is a nut case who didnt realise she had 8 stitches in her belly!....

Re: Tomorrow is D day for Holly
Hello peeps,
what a few weeks i have had... sick puppy on anti inflams, husband with broken ribs and 3 sick kids.... Holly was the toughest and easiest to look after lol
She decided that chasing the cat with stitches in was much more fun than laying in her crate... and of course she got it irratated and sore... thank goodness all is well now.. stitches out and vet is very happy with her... she has taken prime position in our new 4x4 and thinks the car seat is hers!.
Husband... well he thought he was 16 again and decided BMX riding was easy... hard lesson...
Kids.. grrrrr WINTER..... hate it.. anyway ther are off to the Dr now.
chat soon x
hope u are all well

Re: Tomorrow is D day for Holly
Aw, Mel, it never ends, does it? You'll have to write your hubby's age on the back of his hand with indelible ink so he remembers! Hope he isn't too sore.
Holly's a right pain isn't she? Chasing a cat. Huh! You'd never catch Dempsey doing a fool thing like that!
Give the kids a hug from me & some licks from Dempsey - hope everyone's better soon!
