I found Rocky

Well after what seemed an age to find the right pup I found Rocky today. He is a Black male aged 10 weeks and a real Gem.
I have been searching the classifieds but realised there is a real sad side to puppy breeding so concentrated on KC reg dogs and in particular Champdogs but with no luck. Yesterday Rocky was advertised as he was kept by the breeder but father to him wasnt getting on with him. I quickly arranged to see him and went this morning to Stafford. Initially I met him mum and dad........OMG they are the finest Staffs I have ever seen. These dogs were immaculate, absolute beasts and unbelievable coat and physiques.
Rocky was in a crate in the living room and it was clear to see he was very well cared for and he is a bundle of joy. We made our minds up straight away, he was coming home with us.
He has settled in a treat and already we love him to bits.

has he been health tested for all the main health issue for staffys?

have you look to se how inbred he was?

Congrats Bob , I would agree as you haven't given us many details to know his background is all good , COI checks done , health testing done etc a few people will be sceptical about you maybe rushing , but I am also very aware how once you are faced with them eyes and a little bundle of fun its hard to walk away and think about it .

I cant understand peoples negativity tbh. I have been looking hard for a male Staff pup for a couple of weeks now and to find a KC Reg dog with all tests done [and not from a backyard breeder] has proven difficult.
I have scoured the net, made several phone calls, sent 20+ emails and spent hrs reasearching puppy buying so I dont agree that I have been impulsive. This was fate.
I could have gone on a 8 week waiting list with one breeder who had just had pups.
I could have made a mamoth journey to [view only] Norwich and put a deposit down. [Or similar journey to Lanarkshire] - no thankyou. But other than these potential enquiries there are none around at the moment to my suprise.

A good Staff pup is rare as hens teeth imo.

Ive no pics at the moment as i'm not too great with the image hosting side of things.
His parents are Hackett Man and Sashkadam Tenacious Girl.
Both L-2HGA and HC-HSF4 clear.
The owner of the dogs was a real gent, elderly fella and he has owned and bread Staffs for 30+years. I couldnt have found a more genuine owner/breeder.

Unfortunately neither of these seem to be entered into Stamtavler so we cannot see the pedigree

However I have checked the COI and that comes out ok at Breed average so that's ok

Rocky isn't a name I would have chosen but his current owner had already named him that and it seems unfare to change it now.
He has settled in a treat and is causing chaos already.

He is a little cracker Bob , and regarding the name IF you wanted to change it there would be no problem but I think personally he looks like a Rocky and pleased to see you've managed to get the pictures on , now there is no excuse at all for daily update pics

Just seen this thread, and thought I would let you know that I own Rocky's auntie 'Minnie'. She is full sister to Rocky's mum.

Don't know about the dad but on his mums side she has a solid pedigree and very well put together heritage. If he's anything like our Minnie and his grandma Sasha ... he will have a wonderful character and bring you a lot of happiness .... although his auntie and grandma are both as daft as a brush lol ... constantly in fast forward.

I wish you all the best with him and look forward to seeing how he turns out.

Looks a spitting image of sasha when she was little apart from the fact that rocky is a boy obviously. Beautiful puppy enjoy him while he is little they dont stay that small for long

Wow thats such a coincidence.
I'll attach a pic of Rockys mum and dad. Both fantastic dogs and miles better in the flesh and yes his mum [and dad] was as daft as a brush.
