Selfless dog

How's this for consideration? My wife bought me a lovely piece of home made Victoria Sponge. When she got home she put the shopping down on the kitchen floor and came back through to the sitting room. We went back to the kitchen to find Bacchus licking his lips. He had found the cake, and knowing I'm supposed to be on a diet, ate it, thereby removing the temptation. He had even eaten the napkin it was wrapped in plus all the crumbs just to be sure I couldn't eat them and pile on the pounds.
I don't think he even enjoyed it.
How's that for devotion??
