The Wonder of Dogs
Great endorsement for the breed from the vet on this programme last night. If you didn't watch it try to catch the repeat. Great to see some positive publicity for a change.
On the subject of dogs empathising with their human charges. I have been suffering from " man flu " for the last few days and, being a great believer in the healing power of sleep, have been having very early nights ( 6/7 pm.). Bacchus visits frequently, although he knows he shouldn't be in the bedroom, and has been resting his chin on the bed next to me, and I must admit it makes me feel better just stroking him. The OH tells me that when I've had the bedroom door closed he has been spending a lot of time lying beside the closed door.
Warms your heart.

Re: The Wonder of Dogs
Haven't seen this week's... Will get it on catch up now!
Awww Bacchus, you little sweetie!
I genuinely believe they can read emotions and empathise with us. I've not had a reason to cry since having Bruno, but my other two dogs are totally in tune with me.
When my dad died last year you can imagine there was a lot of tears. They are so good at coming and resting their head on your knee just to let you know they're there if you need them.
