chewing in the garden
Hi everyone sasha had started chewing things in the garden not sure how to stop her. She started with plants and digging which although isnt ideal isn't a problem as such. The last couple of days she has subsequently chewed a new fence put up to keep her away from the part of garden I dont want her in the power lead to solar lights the power lead to the mains water fountain it wasn't plugged in at the time. She has this morning pulled the light out of the bottom of the water fountain and chewed the sides of the gazebo. The garden is secure so I want to try and leave her out there instead of putting her in her crate when we have to leave her for a few hours to go shopping

Re: chewing in the garden
Never leave your dog alone in the garden, always supervise her. There are just too many things a pup can get up to, and all of them could be dangerous!
If you're only going out for a couple of hours, then the crate is by far the safest place to leave her.

Is it possible for you to erect a puppy pen. My husband fenced a small area in my back garden for Tip to stay in if we got to go out for long. Or otherwise she gets left in. A puppy safe room in the house.

Re: chewing in the garden
I was thinking about fencing a portion of the garden off for her. I don't like to crate her for more than an hour or so and thought the garden would be a much better place for her as she can run around if she wants to. She chews even if we are there. This morning I only left her for a couple of minutes to go to the loo myself thats when she chewed the gazebo sides

Re: chewing in the garden
I'd be worried about Daisy being stolen from outside (and my garden is very secure too).

Thats what my hubby said I will keep her in her crate for now. Still don't know what to do about the chewing though she has lots of toys out there too

Re: chewing in the garden
Tip has only used the puppy pen twice as I do worry about them stealing her. She normally gets to stay in the living room and I try avoiding being gone more than an hour. Great but true excuse not to be too long away from home.
