Genitals

Tyson's just about seven months old now, and I find he keeps getting...*ahem* excited at odd times; during play, early in the morning, whenever he's waiting for a meal - is this a normal puppy thing, and will it subside, or should I be concerned? He's already been fixed, could that be something to do with it?

Its normal behaviour. He was fixed very young though..

Fixed.. not sure thats the right terminology as its not exactly a 'fault' that needs 'fixing' but as Hayley stated, it is normal behaviour, Zeus is the same in certain situations.

It depends what you mean by 'excited'! If you mean he gets his 'lipstick' out, then yes, perfectly normal & has nothing at all to do with castrating!

Getting him castrated wasn't my choice - I would have rather waited until he was a year and a half, but Mum was, as mothers can be, rather insistent.

I do like the 'lipstick' idea though!

Yep my chance was neutered nearly 2 years ago and his lipstick lives out

Cooper decided to show his lipstick for the first time at Puppy Class last week - I was so proud lol! Nothing by half my boy!

I honestly didnt realise that the lipstick still comes out after neutering , jo's going to be very amused

I think that might be the group of muscles that form the 'knot' during mating - it's what keeps them from separating during the moment of passion, maybe it just begins operating whenever they get aroused.

The castration isn't the cause of it. It can happen when he's excited, hot, playful or just because it decides to pop out to say hello. It's nothing to worry about!

Vins lipstick is always out! especially when make him wait at the door when we come back from a walk! don't know what that's all about:lol:

Ah I've seen that (the second balls as you call them ) I've always linked it to being bursting for a pee though, it's there whenever he's bursting and goes away as soon as he is relieved

they are glands and the can swell when they go for a pee, but it is through excitement of the gland in someway not 'cos they are desperate for a wee

Yes Otis does all these things aswell, he hasn't been neutered yet but it's all normal what your describing

Although I have to say, that since Kuchar was "fixed" 3 or 4 months ago, the opportunities for embarrassment have dropped by about 75%.

ditto the "second set of balls". First few times I saw them I was worried sick - hernias and all sort went through my mind. Thank heavens for a brave soul on Google who explained what they were!
