Too hot to eat?!!
Belle seems to have gone right off her food since the weather has got a lot warmer is this normal? She did get funny with her food any way( I put in a different thread about changing and that I have added mackerel to her dried food to encourage her to eat it) She is also not drinking as i as I think she should be to keep her cool and hydrated!! I make sure there is always fresh water down and I've been adding ice cubes to it to keep it cool.
Any advice help is gratefully received thanks Karen and Belle xxx

Re: Too hot to eat?!!
Rocky was a bit funny with his food when i was weaning him off the last brand onto a new one, and with the heat in summer, he also didn't like eating too much, dogs take a while to adjust to heat, just like humans in heat we don't like to eat too much, i would keep an eye on her just to make sure she is at least drinking water, if you see any other signs/symptoms maybe contact your vet. But i really would put it down to the heat!

Re: Too hot to eat?!!
Very normal for dogs to go off food in the heat.
With the boys being raw fed, all their food has been given frozen for the last few weeks, so they are still happy to eat!

Daisy has been a bit off her food too, do make sure she keeps drinking though, I've been taking water to daisy to make sure she's having it.

Re: Too hot to eat?!!
Shéara's been off his food and water as well. Ive just left his food out so he can eat when he wants but ive filled the paddling pool up (he likes drinking out of it) and ive given him a frozen bottle of water to lick and ice cubes to eat/play with to keep him hydrated. If she's really not drinking, try adding a tiny bit of cordial to her water for more taste.

Roxy has been off her food as well, I am sure they will not let themselves go hungry.

Re: Too hot to eat?!!
Aww thank you all for your reassurance it makes me feel a lot better, day 3 and she still not really interested in her dried food even when I added fish to it! and this morning I tried a little bit of chicken and rice tinned puppy food with it and she's still not eating anything other than a couple of bites!!!
I've also been bringing her water to her but again she doesn't seem interested so I'm gonna try the bottled water frozen so she can at least lick it! Might get her a little paddling pool too

Re: Too hot to eat?!!
Hi guys, colin has been the same, I received a notice the other day about not giving ice cubes as it can cause twisted stomachs.... Colin loves them, but I'm not risking it anymore... if I can find the thread, I'll repost it! Be careful everyone!x
