when is a puppy classed as an adult

my alfie is 20 months old and i was told that he is now an adult as he is over 18 months
i must admit, he has chilled out more

Yes I would say he was an adult but Moo is 4 and I still notice her development and her muscles become more defined

Ooooh I thought they were always puppies I think yes he's an adult at 18 months but the can continue to grow until 2/3 or even 4 like janeys moo

I suppose it depends on how you define 'adult'.

If you're showing, then your dog is adult at 12 months. If you go by physical developement then it depends on the breed/size of the dog. The toy breeds reach adulthood much earlier than the giant breeds for example.

At 20 months he still has a lot of growing to do so I suppose he isn't really fully adult yet. But not quite a pup!

For me it is as long as I can get away with , don't be mad at him Mrs Dave he's just a puppy .................. time running out very rapidly

In general, I've always thought of 2yrs as an adult .. obviously they are fully mature well before that, and continue to grow long after that, but I personnally dont consider them an adult till 2

Well Chance is 3 and acts constantly like an 8 week old pup someone's not told him to chill out
