Help !!
Ever since we have had zeke from 9 weeks old he has always had accidents in his crate. It is driving me insane as he is still doing it now. He is never in his crate for longer than 3 hours and as we both work my partner always pops back several times a day to let them out. Now Zeke will not wee in his cage in the morning my partner will let him out say dinner time and then by the time I get home about 4 he has weed even though my partner could have popped in in the afternoon to let them out. He has started doing it through the night and also pooing but we always let him out. He is house trained and is now 5 months old. He doesn't wee in the house or poo and knows to go outside for that. We only crate them for their own safety and would hate him to chew a wire. He has toys and everything with him. i know its not the best being in a crate but he gets a big walk in the morning and when I get in. Its like he cant hold his bladder :/ Any suggestions it is really driving me insane now.

Re: Help !!
A lot of it could be habit. If he wees in his crate, the scent is probably lingering, so to him it's a urinating spot. If possible, the crate and bedding should be cleaned to get rid of the smell.
If there's a pattern to the weeing, such as him doing it at certain times during the day or half an hour after drinking, you could try taking him downstairs quickly to be ready for it.

Re: Help !!
This was a huge problem with Gwen as well! Then she completely stopped doing it randomly one day! She was good and had no accidents for at least 2 months! Silly us thought it was over for good! Then just as quickly as she stopped she started again! It started when she had really bad diarrhea! It seemed like once she pooped once in there she went straight back to her old habits, despite me cleaning her crate to remove the smell! It has gotten better now but she still occasionally does it! We have gone back to basics and are taking her out every 45 minutes to go to the bathroom and also right after she wakes up from a nap, plays, or eats/drinks! You just have to be consistent and make sure you get her out enough to empty her bladder/bowels and it will improve! When she goes in the crate ignore it, don't yell at her or even say anything! When she goes outside praise her like crazy, make a big fuss over her, and give her a treat! Some catch on quicker than others for some reason, Gwen seems to be one that struggles with this!

Re: Help !!
Bacchus is 11 months and had an" accident" in his crate the other night. The smell awoke me at 4am. This is a veeery rare occurence and was a result of me giving him a large lamb leg bone the day before ( this happened once before so will perhaps have to only give him half a bone in future).
As stated previously, it's important not to make a fuss, just clean up and act normal. No retribution no praise, just clean up and go back to bed.

Re: Help !!
I haven't been telling zeke off or anything as I generally think it is an accident and I have never caught him in the act so I wouldn't shout at him. He gets alot of praise for doing it outside. Hopefully he will just grow out of it!!
