Anyone else's puppy turned into a terrible teenager?

So Otis is now 10 months and a couple of weeks old and all of a sudden I feel as if in the last few days he has turned into a devil dog. He whines, barks, growls and has had a few run ins with other dogs while he has been on his lead. He is fantastic off his lead greeting and playing with other dogs but I think other dogs have become less tolerant of his bounciness when in his lead as he is no longer a cute little puppy.

He barks at anything and everything and sometimes I think he is barking at thin air either that or we have a ghost that he can see and we can't lol.

Anyways, did anyone else have a terrible toddler on their hands and any words of advice? Please tell me this phase will pass.

I still love him dearly and right now he is snuggled right into me flopped right over my knee with his head on my shoulder, but at times he is driving me to drink!!! I have threatened him I'm gonna take him to the bad dogs home...I know I'm a bad mummy lol.

totally normal! Pushing boundaries and generally just being a brat!

He will certainly grow out of it! Just be more stubborn than him

Been there with Rolo. Be consistent, don't give in, and remember to breathe Rolo went through annoying, pain in the bum teenager phase where it felt like it all went out the window, now he's hit 18 months he's calmed right down again He may go through it again? If he does... I'm right back to basics firmer and stricter!!! I win, he doesn't... Keep going, fingers crossed for you.

Oh sounds familiar will get easier just keep enforcing the rules. He is gorgeous though!

Gwen is going to be 6 months old next week! She is such a handful..every time we say no she starts barking at us and growls! She even bit me today which she hasnt done in awhile. Have noticed some big changes in her the past 2 weeks and can tell shes entering her naughty teenager stage! I just keep telling myself to stay patient and that it will get better! Good luck!

Well today I feel like a bad mummy, he was going nuts this morning so took him for a massive walk to the park to try and get rid of some of his energy and he was as good as gold and his recall was perfect. He met some new friends and had a run about.
He's cuddled up on couch now for a snuggle long may it last the peace and quiet...lol I give it half an hour before he's up to his usual shenanigans.

Lol it lasted about 5 mins, next door are getting a new kitchen in so workmen are banging and drilling away and walking up and down the driveway next door so poor we Otis is all unsettled and keeps barking. Some nurofen for me gonna have a pounding sore head what with the noise and the barking combined.

Yep Harlem is the same age and just does whatever comes to his mind. Lol it's normal. Lol

His toilet training has also gone backwards he done 2 poops in the bedroom last 2 nights despite being let out before we went to bed and given every opportunity to go. He last ate at 5.30 as normal and no treats :-S dunno what's come over my baby boy. Oh and he decided to mark his territory in pets at home on al,PDF every display stand lol

Our pup is ten months tomorrow, at the moment living with her is like pulling teeth! She was always so sweet, calm and cuddly. Now she is the devil incarnate! She runs about and contantly jumps on and provokes the other dogs, hanging from their collars as they desperately try to get away. She runs at the gate and barks as people with dogs walk past. In the house she tears round like a nutter, bashing against the furniture and jumping in your lap at random (usually when you have a cuppa!). No amount of walking and wearing her out seems to stop it, it is a constant battle. And she was never a nippy pup but now every time someone comes through the door she pulls their trouser legs and sleeves and wont leave them alone!

We are getting there but oh my days I never thought my little angel would become such a little monster!

KingKane, are staffords allowed in Jamaica? My other half didn't think they were (sorry to hijack the topic!)

Zeke is 5 Months old and he is going through it. Exactly the same things! Im just sticking to the normal routine and not letting him get away with anything! xx

At 3 months that is just naughty puppy stage! They dont hit teenager stage until about 5 or 6 months! You have a longgg road a head of you! It gets worse before it gets better, especially when they are bigger and stronger and more stubborn! I've just noticed some huge changes in Gwen's behavior over the last 2 weeks and she is almost 6 months! She is WAY more stubborn and naughty now!

Eeee Cara I know how you feel as zeke is only 2 days older than your gwen. He is such a naughty little thing now. Cant believe how fast they have grown! xx

Haha Zeke is so cute! I love his name too. Gwen gets SO mad when we tell her "no" now! Its actually kind of funny sometimes because she will get so annoyed and start barking, growling, and snapping at us and putting up a big fuss. She is so stubborn sometimes!
