Day two
Well this is day two of Nitro's life with us. He's just a few days shy of 8 weeks. We drove two hours to collect our little man, and he is well worth it . He slept through both nights (so far, so good). Is happy in his own company for short periods of time, and likes nothing better than to curl up in his crate.
He's a little feisty, but after researching the breed (prior I owned a Bull Mastiff) that's quiet normal. He's very vocal, I did worry at first as he has growled a few times, mainly when being removed from something he wanted to do, that he wasn't allowed to do lol! So I told him a firm "No!" And gave him time out. If anyone has better suggestions please share .
I have children, so I'm trying to teach them, as much as pup... How to react, how to respect him as much as he must respect them. Boundaries etc... Gosh! Just like having a toddler again.
So far I've taught him the basics, sit, paw, drop... And he's had no poop accidents inside (yet) just a few wees I didn't get to quick enough. But he's getting it already. And goes by the door and cries .
Here is Nitro.

No, all my friends seem to have Jack Russell crosses. Or what they like to call 'miniature Jacks.' Far less fun haha!
My BM was pretty good in fairness, but she did go through her teenage rebellion stage. That was a long time ago tho. She passed away a few years back now, she only ever growled about twice. But she wasn't vocal anyway.
So hard trying to remember, and because he's a Staffy... Different ball game.
I'll appreciate any advice. I've done loads of research, but its not the same as talking to people that actually have experience.

You'd love him, but much harder to train a stupid dog, so a bit less hassle and stress for you

Re: Day two
All together now! Three, two, one...
...awwwww! Adorable little baby. I'm a bit jealous he seems a lot smarter than Tyson, who still can't do paw, but bless him he's still a lovely wee chap. Smart as a cinder block, but still lovely, and I think Nitro's going to be just as good!
Congrats on the adventure you've got ahead of you!

Lol! How old is Tyson? My Bull Mastiff wasn't a bright gal. But she was still so lovely, wouldn't of changed her.
Nitro seems on the ball, but he is very vocal with his growls. Trying to nip that in the bud. Hopefully he'll grow out of it .

Glad to hear all is going well for you and Nitro
I do have to agree that it is like having a toddler in the house, except that I think toddlers are less stubborn and easier to deal with sometimes
