First walk!

We took Taco for his first walk today.
He did so well! We went to an oval down the road and let Sophie have some off lead time. Taco's recall has been good enough that after trying him on a longer lead for a while we decided to let him have some off lead time as well and see how he went.
He absolutely loved it! He was prancing around and running all over the place with a massive panty grin! Even though there were birds and all sorts of exciting new smells his recall was perfect and he was so well behaved. I'm so proud!

They do love their off-lead exercise. Well done.
Just be aware that as his confidence grows his recall might not be quite so good. On our walks on the common Bacchus is seldom on lead and stays close until he sees another dog /person, then he has to say hello.

Oh, tell me about it! Sophie used to be an absolute menace for it but she's gotten better with it now. Not quite 100%, but a lot closer than previously. Once he grows a bit, Taco will be on a long lead or at the dog park for the most part until his recall is quite reliable. At the moment though he' s still quite small and easily caught up to.

Chiquito is still waiting for his final needle to kick in and do it's thing so we haven't been able to go to the park yet .. can't wait to get there though!
