just wanna say thank you. update on poppy

A little while back I wrote a post about the problem I was having between Poppy and my son (can't find previous post lol)....basically she had started facing up to him and not doing as she was told by him.

To cut a long story short several people gave me advice which we used and I am pleased to say there has been a vast improvement with her. My son started by taking over her feeding....before she would've dived right into her bowl when he put it down but now she sits on command and waits til given the go ahead (a high five of all things lol) and even then it has to be followed by him telling her to "go get it". I am amazed how such a simple thing has totally changed their relationship with each other. Even now when he's sitting watching tv she will go up and cuddle into him whereas before she would just try to annoy him by pulling at his clothes/mouthing etc.

Poppy still has the odd occasion of testing her limits tho but as I said to my son we will just keep up with the training as she is still only 7 months so will push her luck occasionally!

So all in all a big thank you to those for the advice. I enjoy this site as being a first time staffy (cross) owner it's been invaluable. Its nice to know that you're not judged just by the type of dog you own.(as I have previously had on other sites)

The feeding thing works so well, my fella bullies my Dad (lol) and I have my Dad feed Logan even a few treats when he's round and that seems to help a lot too.

Great news. Although I don't totally agree with the Alpha thing, I think it has some validity and I think this is a case in point. Poppy now knows and accepts her place in" the pack" and is a better happier puppy for it.
