Nipppy advice
Well holly is now feeling confident and us nipping lots lol
I know it's normal doesn't worry me . I usually just say no and replace with a toy to bite.
Sometimes she leaps at your face , if this happens I say no and quickly place her in the downstairs toilet , shut the door and count to 20.
When I open the door she is in there rolling around and sniffing things have a great time so I am not sure she gets the message .
Any ideas ?

Re: Nipppy advice
It's all ahead of you now Sarah lol!
What you are doing is what I did with Logan. It takes a while for them to even understand they have done anything wrong. So I'd just keep at it. Some people suggest letting out a high pitched "ow" like a yelp, but this always has made things worse for me as it creates excitement I find.
I read somewhere once that it's actually a worse sign for you to have a puppy that doesn't nip. Because you can't teach them what is right unless they have done something wrong first.

Your doing the right thing The more she settles in, the more playful she will get and she will realise eventually that nipping or jumping stops play, and no puppy wants play to stop I found the "yelping" technique worked best for us, a high pitched "yelp" every time she nipped or mouthed, stop play immediately and do not make eye contact.. it took a while but she finally realised that nipping meant being a "nigel no friends" and now she never nips or mouths at all

Re: Nipppy advice
Thanks guys I knew you would help !! I call her mrs nippy knickers lol
The helping makes her excites like Logan so doesn't work for her.
The only thing is that the toilet isn't always near wherever she was when she nipped so I am not sure if there is too much of a delay for her to associate it with the nip.
I tried walking away but she always follows me wagging her tail and pulling on my socks ! Bless her ...i forgot how tiring a puppy is ... Love it really though

Don't be silly, that's just what they say to stop people from crying and having a nervous breakdown
Sounds like you're doing it right maybe put her in a more boring room lol but I don't think it'll matter. She'll play on her own if she has to, it doesn't mean she won't get the message.

They are all different I'm sure soon enough you will find a technique that works for you

Like Kylie we found the yelp and ignore worked, and really quickly too. I still use the yelp if he gets too enthusiastic when playing with tug toys and gets near the fingers.

This is something we didn't go through with Rocky, thankfully we missed this stage with him (Rocky was about 12 months old when we adopted him), maybe the link below can offer some help:

Re: Nipppy advice
We used the yelp too, sometimes if yelp doesn't work she has to go to "jail" for a couple of minutes. we found the nipping came in 2 stages, we got the first stage nipped in the butt right down to no nipping at all, and then the teeth decided to start dropping out lol, back to the nipping, but its no where near as bad as it was before. i used to redirect with a chew toy when the nipping started, but i quickly realized i was rewarding her for nipping, if that makes sense. yelp or solitary confinement lol. be consistent though.
