In need of some reassurance
My girl Gucci is 12 weeks old and tends to lunge at faces when you bend down to play with her. I have been bitten a couple of times but nothing serious, I am however concerned because I have a four yr old son and am afraid she could hurt him. When she lunges I brush her aside tell her no and then leave the room for a couple of minutes but when she get really excited she is still doing it. I know she is just trying to play and is not being aggressive and she actually has very good bite inhibition because she was raised with her litter mates and a pack of adult dogs until we picked her up a week ago. So was hoping someone else has gone through this and can reassure me this goes away and maybe share there technique for curbing this behavior - thanks

This technique could work, but I find that the best way to deal with this sort of excited behaviour is put her in another room, preferably a bedroom or bathroom where she'll be away from distractions (just make sure nothing dangerous is at her reach, including plugs etc). Leave her a few mins then let her back out to re-join the family.
However, if she persists to be bad put her straight back into the other room and repeat it until she stops.
A few minutes at a time should be enough.

Re: In need of some reassurance
Either way should work as long as you're consistent. You could also try to include your son in the training! If she snaps/lunges at his face get him to say "No!" and then either he can go with you when you put her (or yourselves) out of the room.
It will work, but it can take a little time for her to understand that play bitin her siblings was ok, but play biting humans isn't!
Don't despair, and try not to get impatient or angry - she's only doing what she's been doing for 11 weeks or her life!

Most definitely , Tommy was a jumper , not all the time but when he was hyper , he would dive for ears etc it really is just a matter of calming and the correct reaction from you which you sound like you are doing right now, even at 11 months almost Tommy no longer does it all of the time but on occasions he will still jump and grab jumpers etc

Lucy lunge-nipped at my nose the other day, so I told her off, locked her outside for 5 minutes then sent her to bed when she came back in.

Everyone's said all there is to say on the training advice, but just keep up with it, be consistent and patient and she'll get there

Best advice here, find what works for your pup and stick too it.

Skye is 13 weeks old now and still does this whens shes excited. I have 3 kids ages 9,5 & 2. Strangely me eldest two are more wary of skye than my 2 year old. Hes the one who pushes her away and shouts get down! She gets really excited when she sees them and I know she just wants to play but when she jumps and pulls thir clothes or nips they get quite scared. Its great sometimes as they sit on the sofa and darent move haha Ive never seen them so quiet or still
