*TINIEST pup ever *HELP?*
Hi ! So 3 weeks ago we bought a 6wo little girl, they were small, but we don't have a lot of experience with puppies - so not sure what is "normal" Anyway so she is now 9wo (vet checked) And is still tiny, now when i say tiny, i mean tiny. She weighs 2.2kg (1.2kg at purchase)an stands at just 14cm (or 4.8lb - 5.5" in your terms) We're not sure if she was the runt ? Will she just be petite or do we have a "teacup" Stafford lol I will try and attach a pic here for your opinions

Re: *TINIEST pup ever *HELP?*
That does sound a little on the small side and 6 weeks was a little early to take her from her siblings. It's hard to say with weight as they all grow differently but as long as she keeps putting on weight I wouldn't be too concerned

They grow in fits and starts, even "runts" catch up eventually. Marleys bro loki has always been around a month behind in development but is a fine looking dog.
Six weeks is too young imo but its not end of the world. Runts only suffer in the wild so with care and attention she should be a fine dog. If your not showing or working dont get hung up about size just enjoy her for what she is. Love her and look after her thats all that counts

As jstaff said it does sound small but as long as she is healthy and keeps gaining weight steadily I wouldn'y worry too much.

I agree with what has already been said. Just make sure you feed her the best diet you can afford (as with any dog) and even if she does end up a little on the small side, I'm sure you'll end up with a lovely doggie.

Re: *TINIEST pup ever *HELP?*
Thankyou for the help with Photobucket ! I have never used it before. Here is 2 pics. Yep she sure is a little thing, but she is lovely. I think sometimes she growls out of fear (from being so small) We are not tolerating any negative behaviour - and we treating this with eye contact and a firm deep voiced "NO" or ignoring her by ending playtime abruptly if she becomes growly and/or nippy. We got our old boy as a very well mannered and trained 2yo, so have not done a puppy before - We are very surprised at the dominance she displays sometimes. I hope this isn't a reflection of her personality ? Just a pup thing ? Figuring herself and her surrounding out ? Thankyou so much for all your replies already, It's wonderful to have more experienced people to talk to.

Re: *TINIEST pup ever *HELP?*
Awww she is teeny she is sooo cute
Here is a link to help with any nipping although it looks as though you are have it worked out

As for the growling that is just play not dominance yet and it will get a lot louder and a lot more often as she grows But it is completely normal and not a bad behaviour nor is it any kind of aggression or dominant behaviour while they are so young.. They can get quite vocal, growly, in play
Enjoy your gorgeous little pup and now you have photobucket sorted we will expect loads of pics and updates

She's tiny, but unbelievably cute. Just give her extra special care and she'll be fine. In a perfect world she'd be with her mum until 8 weeks minimum.

I'm going to be different to everybody else & say that she's way too small for a pure bred Stafford, so I think you almost certainly have a Stafford cross.
Very cute, though!

She is gorgeous. Don't worry about the growling, it's just the way they play. Bacchus is 8 mths and was playing with his 10 mth old Doberman pal tonight and you would think he was going to have it's throat out but it was all great rough and tumble and they both went home exhausted.

The growling is normal. Jango had some fun with an Akita today. They were growling and playing. The only thing I don't tolerate is bsrking but we use the pet correcting spray which is brilliant. When used properly of course.
