Re: 2 hrs to go
He collapsed last tuesday and has ended up having an op for pyloric stenosis, the vet also thinks hes got inflammatory bowel disease, just awaiting biopsy results. Bless him

Re: 2 hrs to go
Hahaha, just been settling him in. Hes looking good and has put on 2kgs since last tuesday even though he hasnt eaten since monday!!! Was so dehydrated.
Ive had him sat with me but he wont stop wriggling to ive put him on his crate asvhe needs to rest but he is making the most awful crying/howling noise, am sat in the kitchen round the corner from him saying ssshhhhhhh every time he does it. Should i let him out? I think ive got to be cruel to be kind as he needs rest. He has never ever cried before in his crate, even when whwn we first got him. I bet hes been so lonely at the vets

Re: 2 hrs to go
I would guess that Rocky is feeling discombobulated right now after being in hospital and probably still feeling sore from his op. yes he does need rest, but if he would feel happier and more restful bein snuggled up with you on the sofa, then in your place that is what I would do, for a day or two until he's used to being at home again.

Already taken him out and hes on my knee really upsets me to think he could have crying like that whilst on his own at night at the vets

Re: 2 hrs to go
It can be very distressing. Moo was under anesthetic not so long back and I kid you not she cried for 48hrs bless her, he'll be ok soon with a ton of reassurance oh and patience! Xx

Re: 2 hrs to go
Great news. I still leave some of my clothing with Logan every night. It really helps. We are all so happy to hear things are looking up

That's what Dempsey had after his stomach operation - started off with just two tablespoons at a time, every couple of hours & gradually built it up over about 10 days.
The anaesthetic and the iv drip will make him a bit subdued, but he should start to pick up again very soon.

Re: 2 hrs to go
Hi Caryl, what op did dempsey have? hope you dont mind me asking. How long was recovery, dont know of anyone else in a similar situation and am scared hes not going to recover or that something else will go wrong. Im trying to be positive but it has been one thing after the next and it is hard going. He seems ok and is keeping everything he eats down so thats a good sign.
