Feeding and puppies
Ok guys, more advice needed.
I often hear a rule of thumb that puppies need to eat about 10% of their body weight each day to get all the calories and nutrients they need for their early growth. However, when does a "puppy" cease to be a "puppy" in terms of how much he gets fed? Tommy is almost 17 weeks and is pushing 9.5kg, just short of a kilo of food each day seems a bit much if I'm being honest.
Let me know what you think.

I think you get to a point where you can judge what they need

I've always gone by the guidelines on the food and adjusted by looks and activity level

I do exactly this too. If I fed to guideline exactly to Logan he would be very over weight, as he is a lazy boy a lot of the time and sleeps a large portion of the day. The guidelines do give a good starting point though.

Cheers folks. I'll just carry on as I am then. Tommy is on raw meat and bones diet so there are no guidelines on the food. I just adjust how much I give him. If he starts to look a bit bloated I just ease off a bit

Re: Feeding and puppies
I wouldn't feed 10% a day. My pup went onto raw when she was 7.5weeks and 3-4kg and I just gave her 2-3% of her EXPECTED adult weight and she's fine on that, she gets roughly 300-400g (I don't weigh anything so just do it by eye lol) a day depending on exercise etc.
