Re: Bandit
Yes, he was 1 in a million!
It's strange how different our Bull Terrier is compared to Bandit - totally different character, much more dominant & stubborn!

Re: Bandit
We were VERY proud of him! He was never bought as a show dog, but he did quite well all the same, with placings at Championship Shows. He was immensely fit & strong & if cancer hadn't got him at 13 years old I'm sure he'd have lived to 15 or more!!

No such luck! His mum & dad were though! They were Ch. Yankeestaff Bolivar and Ch. Ainsair Fancy Lass.
We stopped showing him when he was about 18 months old. He didn't like it & neither did we much!

He was stunning.....I love the fist pic he looks so solid and proud.
Not many staffs look more balance than him

Re: Bandit
Yes, he was a well built boy - very strong but not over done if you see what I mean.
He was a terrier-type, though, at a time when judges were looking more for a bully-type, so although he did a bit of winning he never really got what he deserved. His movement was really good for a staff, too.

Re: Bandit
Funny enough he went grey round his muzzle when he was about 2 years old! But then so did his dad, so I suppose it's a genetic thing.

re Bandit
Thats a shame about the shows, He looks like a champion to me. Wonderful stance he has got. Funny seeing the pic of him now with his we grey hairs round his face. Well he certainly looks like one well looked after staff. I love him. He's a cool dude!

Re: Bandit
Here's a picture of Bandit's mum, dad & sister (his sister's the one with Bolivar in the centre - she became a champion after this pic was taken, but was retired & went to a pet home) plus his pedigree:
(Had to do the pedigree in 2 halves cause my scanner ain't big enough!)

Re: Bandit
He was a tremendous friend & companion. He was so missed when he died that we didn't get another dog for quite a while, and even then, none of us could face getting another stafford. My OH especially couldn't look at a staff without comparing to Bandit.
Thank you! Yes, he was a nice looking boy - but don't let his looks fool you...........he could scent another dog a mile away, and know whether or not he would like it (more often than not he wouldn't), and he could sniff out the nearest piece of rotting salmon or sheep (we lived in the foothills of the black mountains) and roll in it (or try to eat it) before you even knew he'd found it!

He was beautiful. Thats exactly how I like a Staffy to look. I prefer the look of terrier personally. It adds to their nutty terrier characters lol!
