Concerned about weight of Luna ?!
Hi all
I'm after some reassurance/advice please ...
Since taking Luna out for walks she seems to have lost her 'puppy fat' and I can see her ribs quiet prominently.
Those of you with experience does she look 'right' for a 13 week old puppy?
I'm not sure whether to up her feeds or if she's ok and i'm being a worry wart
I’ve put some pics that give an idea of her frame ...

Re: Concerned about weight of Luna ?!
She looks fine to me, everso cute tbh. If you think she needs a bit more then go with it at that age they burn everything off anyway, as exersize has started maybe up the food but she looks ace to me its just time to find a balence Xx

Just up her food a bit if your concerned!
Personally I think she's fine, I'd maybe up her feed a bit and see how she goes!
Bailey was about 12 weeks or so in this picture and quite ribby
And Sierra was about 13-14 weeks in this picture and she's a bit more plump than Bailey was

I think she looks fine too. But as said just up her food a small amount and it'll maybe make you feel better. Logan was a fat wrinkley wee lump as a pup but he has sorta grew into his shape now lol.

Re: Concerned about weight of Luna ?!
She looks fine, but increase her food a little if you're worried. She'll be burning it off with her running around anyway, so it's not like she'll get fat. It's not an exact science, just increase or decrease her food as you see fit.

She looks just right at the moment. Now she's getting out & about, though, just keep an eye on her & if you think she's losing weight, just up her food amounts a bit!

Re: Concerned about weight of Luna ?!
As this is my first staffy I was unsure (like yourself) regarding weight. My vet said that at that age you should be able to feel the ribs and slightly see them. If concerned up the food a bit and see if that helps. I think we have the opposite- Honey is getting a wee bit porky and I just can not wait to get her walking! Hopefully then she will drop some weight. As she still has her puppy fat.

I think she looks fine, Oswald is a bit on the porky side, but we are not walking yet so I am not worried

Re: Concerned about weight of Luna ?!
Thank you all for the reassurance
I wasn't sure what size a Staffy pup should be but I guess they come in all varieties
I think looking at so many pics of adult (stocky) dogs made me think I might be underfeeding her.
I'll give her a bit extra food and see how she goes. You wait i'll be back in a month asking if she's fat!!

Re: Concerned about weight of Luna ?!
She looks great to me. I've noticed that Tommy (15 weeks) seems to change on an almost daily basis. One week he looks thin and leggy and the following week he can look like a bowling ball. I think it's just that they are growing so quickly. I've also noticed that upping his food just seems to bloat him and of course, the more you put in at one end, the that comes out at the other end
