noah attacked ......again.....
once again my vicious staffy as been attacked by another dog, this time a collie/sheepdog type, getting a bit p***ed off with this now, noah on his lead , the 2 dogs came bounding over all playful the woman with them a few yards away , they went nose to nose in a chase me type stance then the dog takes a bite at him grazing his head and causing it to bleed, the woman says " he's not very keen on puppies" i say "well thanks for letting me know after the event" she then said " your puppy should be kept under control" ( remember noah is on the lead) i then said "surely your dog should be on a lead" she shrugged and walked off, we me shouting after her , calling her all the f***s under the sun, tell you what if it had been a bloke i would have banjo'd the t**t.

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Arrr poor Noah.
I was out walking earlier with Bella and my sister and her staffy puppy in a local park when a dotty old woman stopped to admire them telling us how lovely they are and asking what breed they were. When I said they were Staffys she replied back "Oh, aren't they known for being viscious dogs?" I gave her a little lecture on what great dogs they are and how they are known as the nanny dog etc. It's a real shame people don't give them a chance.

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
i tell you what, half of me wanted noah to turn nasty on the dog, but gladly its not in his nature, this is the second time in 3 months, he's such a gentle good natured dog , and i want him to stop this way, five minutes after the attack he was playing with a huge labradoodle and then a greyhound, so its not put him off making pals .........

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Poor baby. I hope he continues to ignore these experiences.
My Loki had lots of random aggression from a particular group of collies, and as a result had to be put on lead when around collie types because he felt the need to preempt any attacks. Of course, him being on a lead didn't stop morons allowing their dogs to run up and try to play with him.

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Collies are evil lol
If she made your dog bleed though you should have asked for her details for vet treatment, if she refused you should have phoned the police to report her for out of control animals. "he doesn't like puppies" means he doesn't like other dogs, so he should not be allowed to run up to others, and if he can't be stopped from do that he shouldn't be off lead.
I HATE hate hate people who have working dogs as pets, its always a disaster. Any pet collie i know has been a nut case (apart from one who was use for high end agility...he was amazing)

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
i blame the woman, as we are walking you can see owners whose dogs are nasty sticking the lead on as we approach each other (sensible) but to have such a dog off lead and then stating after the attack he does'nt like puppies is incredible, i'm still angry now 12 hrs later......................

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
I hate people like that. They think because its a staffy, they can get away with it.

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
She should think herself lucky your boy is only a baby, she wouldnt be so smug then. The stupid woman. It was the same when Kenny got attacked. The dog owner was in no rush, her words were, "i didnt know it was a Staffy"!!. That told me that it's ok for her nasty Lab cross to attack, but not attack a Staffy!!. Hope you babys ok

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
cheers kenny, he's none the worse for it, hard as nails !!
i think it upset me more than him. i'm going to start a group aimed at getting collies/sheepdogs listed under the dangerous breeds
only joking
seriously though mate if it was the other way round, i'd probably have had a knock on my door today off the cops.........

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Poor Noah I can't believe how stupid people are to say that an on-lead dog is out of control. Loki's had a few dogs have a go at him, and they've all been friendly dogs that were just annoyed with him we've had dozens of off-lead dogs run up to him and the owner shouting they're friendly. All of the aggressive dogs get put on lead as soon as the owners see us. Surprisingly, I must live in a sane area. People can be crazy, if it was the other way around, you'd be getting harrassed about your vicious, evil dog being out of control

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Before I got Logan I had a Patterdale Terrier, she was a rescue dog and was very aggressive towards other dogs. I always lifted her up when a dog would come over off the lead because I knew what would happen.
I wanted to make sure Logan was very well socialised as a pup so I wouldn't have issues like that again. I couldn't believe how many people that walk dogs off the lead that are DA, even worse DA towards puppies! Logan has been attacked a good few times and it sorta puts me off socialising him. He is a good natured dog like yours and it's hard to watch, because I know he doesn't fight back, he just hides behind me.
I have now got to the point where if I don't recognise the dog/owner I stop and tell them to put it on lead. It makes me feel like a bit of a fool and sorta makes it look like Logan is aggressive. But, I've had too many arguements with owners of nippy schnauzers/yorkies and countless "camouflaged hereoes" with gun dogs to care!
I can understand why you are so frustrated Paul!

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
poor noah..but an all to familar story here sadly.. our boy goes to puppy class to help him socialise with other dogs and doing really well then all goes to pot when he gets attacked by some clown who thinks he/she can control his/her dog who do these people think they are? these people[and in my case its always been of the older generation] think they have a diffrent set of rules that apply to them.. our boy is still a kid he gets off in the park if theres no other dog close untill he learns simple sure he meets other dogs on his lead where i have got some control makes my blood boil

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Poor Noah, I hope it never happens but if Solly was ever attacked and hurt in the process, I would have no worries in informing the Police and local Council, and getting the offending owner to pay the Vets Bills. We have to fight back some way, because from what I am reading on the Forum and my own experience is that too many Staffies and crosses are suffering from the likes of Labradors, Collies etc etc. being out of control.

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Collies are a right pain in the @rse. I've seen more Collies attack other dogs and try to bite people, than any other breed. A friend of mine owns a Collie and he even says that they're very aggressive. As they are working dogs they tend to let off a growl and if the person / other dog doesn't make a backwards move then they will attempt to bite. Does the public ever hear about these in the press? No, yet one attack from a staffy and the whole country wants them banned! Pure ignorance

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
Makes me so cross the amount of irresponsible owners who allow their dogs to roam free without consideration for others. I have an 8 year old staff and a puppy staff, people cross over the road and avoid us, just because of the bad press the breed gets. My dogs are nice natured and wouldn't harm anyone, in fact Ruby was on her lead and two little terriers came up to her off their leads and started yapping and snapping near her face, but she ignored them. If it had been the other way round the owner of the terriers would have gone mad. I only let Ruby off the lead where she is safe to roam free, cos I trust her, I just don't trust other dogs. Hope your dog is ok.

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
one thing i will say about the puppy classes is your dog does find out that there are dogs out there who are friendly which i think is priceless at this age i have said on here before that i dont care for him jumpin hurdles or any other tricks at the club but he is learning to interact with other dogs that want to which is great

Re: noah attacked ......again.....
I am so sorry to hear this! How ridiculous that your dog was attacked whilst on lead and her dogs came to yours!!! It is frustrating and very annoying to say the least when another dog owner does not take responsibility for their actions or their pets!!!
I have been doing puppy preschool and it has been fantastic to help socialize and teach her that not all dogs are aggressive!!!
