How long will this smell last for????
Oh sweet jesus Marley hasnt stopped farting for 3 days (we havent changed his food or anything!) but my goodness he is stinking my house out, i actually have 3 scented candles lit and a can of air freshner next to me, even Ruby my 4 year old has asked when the dog is going to stop popping as at least when daddy does it his dont smell and Marleys stink
Any ideas on what could be causing this all of a sudden? He seems fine and in good health so not overlly worried x

He could have an upset tum or maybe eaten something he shouldn't when he was out. apparently Staffies are prone to wind

I'd say he has a bit of a tummy upset. Do you have any Kaogel in the house?

Re: How long will this smell last for????
I've just bought charcoal biscuits for Bacchus's bum burps and keeping an eye on results. But his are just normal staffy stinks, no upset tummy.
I gather it's something we have to learn to live with.

Are you giving him certain treats? Ralph gets bad bottom burps when he gets certain treats. Have to avoid them... But he does love them so!

Re: How long will this smell last for????
I guess I'm lucky here as well as Kuchar very rarely does botty burps (even after chewing two pairs of specs, one mobile phone, one landline phone and a scent bottle in the last 3 days!)
Just wondered whether Marley was golloping his food down and swallowing a lot of air?

Most local pet shops sell charcoal biscuits We're quite lucky Rolo doesn't windy pop unless he's had sprouts.... then clear the house Maybe worth looking at a better quality food other than a pet shop brand? There is a list somewhere of recommended dry foods Especially if he's a baby... they need a good food to help them grow nice and strong

Another bonus to raw Although over Xmas we had a stinky pup due to all the "added" bits she scrounged from everyone

Re: How long will this smell last for????
Hi guys we narrowed down what caused it when he had his bad teething bout last week and he couldnt eat as he had wobbly teeth jabbing into his gums we put him on the frozen raw meet packs for about 4 days so he kept eating....hence the bottom smell!! Today we stopped in our lovely local pet shop to buy some more charcol biscuits and she recommended charcoal granuals which we put in every meal time hopefully it settles his tummy down soon!!
As for his food its not a cheap food (even though its a local pet store brand) and the ingrediants list is better than that of fish4dogs and a couple of the other top brands, its salmon and potatoe and salmon is the first ingrediant and totals in at 37% also has salmon oil in, i use this as its my friend who owns the shop and he created the food himself its good value for money and Marley is thriving on it, from a 1.8kg 6 weeek pup he is now a strapping 5 and a half month 12.5kg pup

The meat packs don't normally give them farts, but it sounds like the sudden diet change did

Re: How long will this smell last for????
Mayeb give him a lamb bone or a couple of chicken wings, I always find that bones help to firm them up and also to get rid of nasty smells.
