Puppy insurance
Marleys free insurance is due to run out in the next week, so have hit online to get the best price and value for money.....ouch to some of them £200 deposit i wanted one that the excess is not stupidly high as with my last dog the excess was so high we had vets trips cheaper which made the insurance a bit of a waste of money!
So who does everyone use and why?? x

Re: Puppy insurance
I'm with animal friends, I had the very basic cover, but they have paid out what it was no problem at all. I do recommend them.
Whatever you choose go for lifetime cover. I kept telling myself to get a better policy, but put it off as Moo is young, she now has arthritis, and I have to pay for the rest of her life as no policy will touch it.
My only bit of advice is to get a lifetime cover. Whatever there age Xx

Re: Puppy insurance
Lifetime coverage is the best route to go and as young as possible since most companies won't cover prexisitng conditions.

Best advice, tailor you choice around that. Also consider do they pay out up front? Think of all your fears, call them and get answers in writing about the policy and then apply online. Also find a new company to switch to next year if you dont claim as youll get a cheaper deal as a new customer rather than a renewal. If you find two good companies switch between each every year youll save loads.

Re: Puppy insurance
Agree its a mine field!
I still need to change and its been 3 years, sadly missed out on life time because I scared to change (I wish I had believe me), just take the plunge, sainsburys, argos, animal friends direct line and petplan all come recommended Xx

Re: Puppy insurance
Are there any agencies that offer international coverage? Was just talking to my wife about wanting to cover our pup, but I'm pretty sure no agencies on the island offer it.
Re: Puppy insurance
There should be someone who does pets in bermuda. I don't think they can do international service...

Re: Puppy insurance
I'm with Cover4Pets. It's the insurance for the vet's Loki's with, and we got the lifetime one. Just over £20 a month I think, and considering how paranoid I am, it'd be completely worth it even if just for peace of mind.

Re: Puppy insurance
Hi guys, I am new to this site and Chulo is now 9 weeks old and going to need insurance. Looked online comparethemarket.com and think that petprotect seem to have the best deal offering lifetime cover up to £ 4000,-/year for a premium of 25,- per month. There is no excess fee to the vet and they settle the bill directly with the vet. Does anybody have experience with that company (petprotect)?

Re: Puppy insurance
So long as they do the life time cover and the monthly payment isn't too high for you. Sorry but I have not heard of them.
