Yes, I think they know. Love Struck

They seem to be able to sense emotions and certain sicknesses, so he's probably aware that she isn't feeling well!

I think they can tell when someone's upset or sick. But in your case, if Noah hasn't actually seen your wife, it's probably more missing her and wondering where she is than sensing that she's sick. Hope she feels better soon Smile

I agree all dogs have an incredible sixth sense when it comes to stuff like this . Always remembered our old family BC who at the time was very young and a crazy jumper , me mam had a hysterectomy and we were worried about Ben and keeping him down , when she come home we kept him on a lead for an introduction , quite quickly realising there was no need , he calmly went to her and licked her hand and for the next few weeks barely left her side apart from walks until she was up and about herself. (out on his walks he was his usual bouncy lively self).

Tilly and Tommy always lie on the bed with mummy if she is out of sorts where other times they are always with me in the office

I think they definitely know when things are not right. They know when you cry or are angry. I get up in the mornings first if the wife does not come down straight away she will go up to see what taking her so long. Big Grin

My lab x collie was like that with my friend who just had a caesarean. Normally Millie would be jumping all over her but she sat nicely by her side. Few months later she was back to jumping all over her again lol.

They definitely know when someone is unwell or upset.

Paul, I hope your OH gets better very soon, and that you don't catch it. It's REALLY horrible - the times I've caught it is when close relatives have been in hospital.

Noah will certainly know that things are not "normal". Could he lie on the bed with your OH sometimes so that he knows she is still there, and maybe give comfort to your OH as well?

Good wishes to all of you
