It's been a big day

And we are all exhausted .. As some of you know I moved back into my parents house today due to family issues.. The move is almost finished except the unpacking.. Steff hasn't settled yet she is panting and pacing the house and sniffing at everything, she ate some of her tea tonight but not a lot and she has had 2 "wee accidents" & 1 poop in the house already She hasn't messed in the house since she was 8 weeks old.. So I'm back to taking her out the yard every 15-30 mins and of course it's raining tonight isn't it She looks so sad, her ears are down and tail between her legs and she keeps whining.. I hate seeing her so out of sorts and confused.. I wish I could explain it to her..

Sorry for the whinge, but it has been a crap day

its tough on animals when they move. Im sure in a week or two she will settle down. As your doing already just take her out etc so no accidents and plenty of cuddles should sort her

Poor Steffi. All you can do is be patient & let her take her time, hopefully it won't take long.

Apart from that has the move gone well?

Hope life settles down for you soon. Moving is such an upheaval for dogs and us humans.

I'm sure Steffi will settle in in a little while just give her some time to find her feet again.

Caryll I still have to go and clean my house tomorrow then unpack here and I have been a little overwhelmed by all mum's meds and trying to learn when she needs to have what But otherwise the move went well, the weather was good it didn't rain nor was it hot to the extreme, it all went smoothly and I think now it's time to crack a can and see wht hs been going on in Staffy Land, this place always makes me giggle.. As I have been writing this Steff has curled up on the lounge next to me so hopefully she has settled for the night, fingers crossed xx

Well at least its done now nearly, Steffi will settle I'm sure, big hugs and have a good nights kip ><

Its all new to her, try not to show your anxious about her to her face, and try not to reassure her when shes whining or she will think theres something wrong. Act totally normal and give her love and treats when shes calm and relaxed.

Moving was stressful enough for me, so I imagine how weird it is for a dog just give her a bit of time to settle in. Besides, I think even when house-trained, if you move a dog to another house, it won't make the connection that the same rule applies. So she'll get used to it soon. Hope you're all settling in well

Well we are nerly all finished now except the unpacking here.. Steff has been a lot better today, still not 100% still pacing and dosen't like being shut out the back for her own good while we move furniture and boxes in. She is sleeping now at the en of my bed, and she slept well last night too And only 1 accident this morning.. Still taking her out every 20mins or so but she is starting to go to the back door and tap her paw on it to get out We will get there..
