The inevitable Empty The inevitable

Post by Guest Wed Dec 05 2012, 08:09

happened on this evenings walk Crying or Very sad We met our first snake hypnotised I was literlly scared stiff for 2 seconds, Steff was onlead and I guess she picked up on my fear down the lead as she got far away from it real quick Laughing She even walked straight cross the metal grate which up til now I have never been able to get her across..

So what I need to ask is how long will she be scared for? Since we seen it she hs been staying close to me and any sudden noise or movement she is tucking her tail between her legs and acting very scared.. She even flinched when a patted her Sad Is it normal for her to be reacting like this? I know the actual snake wouldn't have scared her that much and she is only reacting to my fear, but we are back home now and I am over it and calm now.

Will get over it in a while. I think They need to get their confidence back etc after a fright. Hopefully she will get over it quickly. Smile

I know you are lucky Smile I just meant generally after something that scares you eg. near miss with a car or an aggresive dog etc.. Like I said I don't think the actual snake bothered her at all it was more my reaction to it.. I didn't actually see the damn thing til we were a metre away from it and it was only that it moved that noticed it.. BUT when I saw it geez I jumped and ran and Dylan screamed then he was crying Sad

I think it's because you were so scared. Not that it's your fault of course Laughing meeting a snake randomly would terrify me. But I think because you're like the parent and she's the kid, like when you see your mum or dad scared, it makes you feel even more scared. So maybe that's why? If so, I reckon it'll just fade away in time when she sees you're not bothered. Don't try to comfort her to make her feel better when she's scared or anything, just kind of leave her to it if you can, let her figure out that you're calm and fine, and she'll follow suit Smile

Thanks Big Grin I'm at work today so she will just have to get over it.. She sleeps in bed with me, usually down the foot of the bed.. Last night she slept on my pillow and kept kissing my face ALL NIGHT Surprised I know it was my reaction but now it's like she is protecting me.. She won't leave me and she kept checking the bedroom door all night.. I'm a very tired and grumpy receptionist today phbbbbt
