Well its been a while since i last posted but all is good in Marley world, he is now had all his jabs and has been microchipped and we are a week into walkies Big Grin
As some may remember Marley came to us quite small anyway so we have been carefull about getting him to a good weight, so just after your opnions on what you think about his weight now?
So his 4 months this sunday and ive litterally just weighed him and his 7.8kg when we got him at 6 weeks he was only 1.8kg does this sound like a good weight or should we be trying to put a tad more on??
I promise to get a piccy up very soon but his a proper chunk we do seem to be in the stage where head needs to catch up with the body growing but his a proper sweetheart Love Struck

Just feed what you feel is right for his age, pups will burn most things off with there energy, but you can't rush things with him. Any updated pics please Big Grin

As a pup your gonna see a whole host of body shapes. Fat thin gangley tall etc etc. Looking at the pics he looks in great health for his age. Do you weigh food out? I do mine and have found that if they miss say 50 grams and i add 50 grams to night meal they still leave roughlythat ammount and only eat usual night meal and leave extra. They are pretty good at self regulating food intake to what they need as pups.
But whatever you seem to have hit the sweat spot and have a really gorg dog there

Aww thanks everyone he is certainly a little over loved in this house especially by the 4 kiddies >Big Grin<
I do weigh his food and i also weigh him roughly every couple of weeks to make sure he is getting the right amount food, i do find he eats slightly less at lunchtime so give him slightly under what he should have so he dont waste it, he only has fish 4 dog treats and never has human left overs (well unless the 2 year old sneaks him a bit of chocolate spread on toast of a morning I dont want to s ) he is walked only twice a day at the moment and he only lasts about ten to fifteen minutes then his bum hits the floor in protest that he dont want to walk anymore rofl!! Il try getting some more photos of him over the weekend.
Wanted to ask is it to young to do the lay command i seem to have mastered most and have tried lay but really doesnt get it? is he to young or is there a knack to teaching this command?? x

Sounds to me like your doing a perfect job and i wish there were more people like you out there, your going to have a stunna of a dog mate. as for commands it just takes a little persistance and youll hit a eureka moment out of the blue. Its never too young to try it wont hurt and they love to please so can help bonding. Try holding a high value treat out and watch them go through what they know to get it, its amazing. Good luck and looking forward to seeing more pics as he grows as he is a good looking dog

We use the treats to help train Suki as well. Just keep the training sessions short and end on a good note.
