HELP
need some advise - me and fella went an brought a puppy late last night we got told it was 8 weeks old but he only looks about 3-4 weeks its tiny, our 5-6 week old puppy is huge compared to him! we saw both mum and dad and there papers so we know his full staff, (we got them from different people) now he wasn't eating or drinking when we got him i don't know if that's because they got fed before we took him or he just wasn't hungry he could hardly walk & got told they was putting them down if the didn't go soon (witch isn't fair)! so i rang 24 hour vets at like 2am told me to put some warm water and food in a bowl and let it go mushy and try him on that, he ate the lot and ate abit of puppy meat and this morning his ate puppy meat and drank some water, but he just won't stop shaking unless his asleep and wrapped up, i put him down on puppy pads to have a wee he shakes and looks like his gonna fall! what can i do?!

Re: HELP
Crikey he does sound like a small wee baby. Firstly, did u see any of his litter mates ? What did they look like ?
Next id call the RSPCA, are the pedigree papers real ? That would be my main concern tbh. Any respectable breeder wouldn't let a pup go until 7wks absolute min.
Anyway, sounds like he has a good home with u, follow advise from ur vet and I'd take him for a checkup too tbh.
I can't offer anymore advise, but all the best and let us know how u get on x

Re: HELP
I think certainly a call to the RSPCA is in order , this is pretty disgusting in my book. So wish you had come here first and asked our advice , you say you already have a 5-6 week old puppy ?? How long have you had him.
Now you need to start getting him feeding properly. My boy was on some porridge for breakfast (made with goats milk) and prize choice mince from Pets at Home for a couple of meals (cooked) and 1 kibble as an evening meal. How is your budget , can you afford a good quality food. What do you feed your other pup on ??

Re: HELP
What made you want to get another puppy so soon? Definitely think you should call the RSPCA or someone about them, to say they'll put them to sleep if they don't get rid of them is absolutely horrific. I know it's not much use now, but in the future, make sure you find the right breeder, someone who has the puppies' (and mum's) best interests at heart and who won't let any of the puppies go before 8 weeks. Like I said, I know it's too late for that now, but in the future if you ever get another, just make sure to check the breeder out so you find the right one for you, one that's healthy and being well looked after.
I can't give any advice on the puppy, but he certainly looks tiny. I don't know about the smaller one, but your older one I'd look on feeding her something better. Wainwright's is what I've fed Loki on ever since we got him, and what the breeder fed him, and it's meant to be a good quality for its price. They sell it at Pets At Home, but you can order it online if you don't have one near you. Much better than most of the ones you'll find in Asda, Tesco, etc. Keep us updated, and I'm sure more people will a lot more experience than me will be able to give you more advice and answer any of your specific questions

Re: HELP
Oh dear. I hate to say this, but I very much doubt that your new pup is a pedigree. If he was, why would the 'breeders' want to put the pups down if they don't go? I suspect it was from an accidental mating & they just want shot of them.
No pup should leave its siblings until at least 7 weeks, and preferably 8 weeks or more, so both your pups have had a particularly bad start in life. Please don't take this the wrong way - I'm not having a go at you, I just can't stand these back yard/irresponsible so-called breeders!
So, the pups are both with you now, both pups look a lot younger than you say they are, and you have to do the best you can for them.
The little'un is obviously a priority. He's shaking because he's scared/cold/hungry & seriously misses the familiarity of his mother & siblings - it sounds like he's only just started to be weaned.
You need to get him to a vet asap & then ask them for the correct way to feed & look after him for the next few weeks. I'd be lying if I said this was going to be easy. It won't be. You're also going to have to start thinking ahead to when your girl starts her seasons - how are you going to keep them apart? A litter from them would be a tragic and totally unacceptable thing to happen, especially as a) neither are likely to be registered with the KC and b) no bitch should have a litter of pups until she is at least 2 years old & by that time she could already have had 4, maybe 5 seasons.
I hope what I've written doesn't seem too negative - please do come back to us & let us know your progress & if we can help in any way with advice etc, we'll be only to pleased to!

Re: HELP
P.S. If he is about 3-4 weeks old, he'll still be very unsteady on his feet & you'll need to make sure that the other pup doesn't play too rough with him.
