Puppy Humping!
Sorry about the title guys but our pup has been tugging and pulling at clothes which we are dealing with as we understand he is playing, but today he was attempting to hump my sons arm on more than one occassion......is this normal at 14weeks!!

Re: Puppy Humping!
It's not abnormal but do discourage the behaviour. Here is a link that should help with the clothes biting. Just make sure everyone knows what to do and does it every time

Re: Puppy Humping!
Amado started trying to hump things when he was about 11-12 weeks old. The way we got him to pretty much stop humping people completely is every time he does it, we say "No" and remove him from everyone for a minute or so. Then we bring him back over to play again. He started to realize that when he humps people, the fun stops. The only time I catch him trying it again is if he gets too worked up during play, but even then it's still happening less and less.
Re: Puppy Humping!
Thanks all some very useful advice to follow.

Re: Puppy Humping!
I don't remember how old he was, but Loki used to hump his monkey teddy. Nothing else, just that. He eventually destroyed it and now he humps nothing, but just say no or distract him with some obedience or playing or whatever to take his mind off it, I think.

It is normal, but to most people not acceptable!
If he does it, just say "no" and gently move him away - get him interested in a toy & play for a minute or two. He'll get the idea!
