Mad!! Help!! Empty Mad!! Help!!

Post by reuben Wed Nov 14 2012, 21:05

Help Surprised Surprised

Just come back from a walk and the wee man took a maddie, racing back and forth.......the wife and I have just learned not to get down to his level when this happens if we don't want broken bones. He must have been celebrating being 17 weeks today. Laughing Laughing

Seriously, why do they do this AFTER they've been exercised and what is the best course of action?
Stay out of his way?
Try to calm him down?
Reprimand him?

Kuchar's the same - does the wall of death around the living room sometimes.Luckily the room is big enough for him to do a few circuits and then he lies down - puffed out! I just stay out of his way - for both our safeties - until he calms down on his own. Love to see it though Big Grin

Stay away from him and make sure his rock-hard skull doesn't collide with your shin Big Grin

They all do that, it's not even a puppy thing, my old dog did it his entire life Laughing

I found that when chaos goes on a mad run the way i calm him down it to get a treat and shout him over ask him to sit and ask for paw then give him the treat, or when i see him on a mad run, running in circles around the table i get a dog bone call him over and throw it on his bed like playing fetch when he gets it he lies on the bed with the bone CALM
