Finally!! Our first walkies!!
So today it is still 3 days before the vet told me to take her out, :-$ , but It is a lovely day and my son and I were going to bicenntennial park to the water fountains and I felt mean leaving Steffi in the house, it's 31 degrees here today.. We had so much fun and now she is sound asleep on the lounge, snoring away happily
Walking over to the fountains and she spotted them
The water babies
The walk back to the car through the maze
and by the time we reach the car park she is exhausted

Thanks yeah I think I overdid it today, she has only been awake about 45 mins in the last 5 hours.. We didn't even walk much we drove to the park and walked probably 200 metres to the fountains played for half hour then walked back to the car.. Do you think thats too much because of her age or because she just isn't used to it??
We are going for a walk in the morning before I go to work, just a street walk though, and probably just a short one tomorrow evening as it is suppose to be really hot tomorrow.. I'm guessing the heat today made it harder for her, she has just taken herself off to bed Such a good girl when she is tired

Aaawww, glad you've finally been able to take her out, and yay on taking pics . How was she with walking on the lead and experiencing all the new things? Oh, and I always find it weird when people post pictures of their dog walks and show their dog fast asleep; Loki is never asleep

That sounds fine Kat , remember it's the real onlead time that you need to watch , a bit of free play is fine. Tommy is often out for a good hour and half now but apart from the odd few minutes here and there on lead because of other dogs or people he is 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back and runs around like a loon in the middle chasing Tilly. He will let me know when he's had enough and then I would just carry him anyway

I have been training her on lead for a while so the lead she is great with, she pulls quite a lot but with the harness no probs... BUT... while walking she barely put her head up, her nose was sniffing at 100miles an hr and firmly attached to the ground All the new smells, but this morning we went for a 10 min walk on lead, no time to play this morning, I slept in and she was a lot better she still stopped 100 times to smell trees, grass, gutters and anything else that caught her attention

That's funny, the first time we took Loki on a walk, he didn't spend much time sniffing, he was too interested in actually walking. Only the past couple of weeks he's had his nose glued to the ground sniffing everything
