Ban the shoe chew

Dusty had a bad experience last night, found a hide chew Ellie had left and hid in the garden chewing it. Well away from Ellie. Dusty brought the chew inside really soft and goey, tried to take it off her but she managed to part swallow it. Unfortunately it got stuck and she couldn't get it up or down. I picked her up to help her but she yelped in pain so I put her back down. Luckily she then choked up the shoe piece and some foam like stuff. we gave her loads of cuddles and she spent the next two hours exhausted on sofa with OH not even moving when we had our sausages. Much better this morning thankfully. Now all raw hide in the bin.

Yep dangerous stuff ! Hate the stuff n dunno why ppl give it to their dogs. Invest in a large stagbar x

my mums old jack russell once choked on rawhide, she was panicking scraping and clawing at her face and my dad had to pin her down and stick his fingers down her throat to remove it, getting bitten in the process. she couldnt breath at all, was the most terrifying situation i think ive ever been in with a dog. i stick with stag bars, rawhide is banned here.
