Re: dog insurance help
There are several good ones at the moment , I think Tesco and John Lewis are well rated , I did Pets at Home this time after neing with Direct Line for a year and got a really good policy but they have changed it all in the last month

There are loads of good insurance companies out there! You need to find one that offers lifetime cover for any condition (ie one that doesn't finish at the end of each insurance period!) and one that will pay vets direct if necessary.
Most vets are happy to do a direct claim if the cost of treatment is over a certain amount, and the insurance company is a well known & reputable one. They will normally charge a small administration fee. Ask your vet if they will do this.
I'm with Sainsbury's & they are quite reasonable considering I've claimed £5000!
I was with M & S before & although they paid out without a problem they doubled the renewal premium, so I changed.

Re: dog insurance help
I've been looking to change, I'm with animal friends but the cover is very basic, the best one I have seen so far is Argos Xx

Re: dog insurance help
For me to use Argos would cost me £43 per month, as opposed to Sainsburys which costs £26 per month even after claiming £5000 last year!

Re: dog insurance help
I have a bank account which I pay £10 per week into
I have done this for years with my gsds and saved quite a bit also I could use it for vaccinations and neutering etc

I doubt I could ever have saved the amount that Dempsey has cost me in 3 short years!

Re: dog insurance help
I had been lucky with my gsds they never needed many visits to the vets
I still have some of the saved money from my gsds it's amazing how much you can save in 12 years lol

Re: dog insurance help
Have a look through the threads below, Rocky is with Argos Pet Insurance on a lifetime policy at approx £15 per month:

Re: dog insurance help
We also opted to stay with pet plan, plus the rescue centre gets a percentage of our renewal fee. Think I pay 22.00 per month for lifetime cover x

Which level, though? To compete with the Sainsburys quote, I would have to go for the top level of Argos & it would cost me nearly twice as much!
