socialisation....
Hello...i am hoping someone can help! I have been taking my puppy to puppy parties at the vets so she gets socialized a little before her actual puppy training starts. anyway when there she makes this strange whiney growly noise and really pulls to get to the other dogs....she then plays quite rough till i pull her back...my question is whether this is normal? She is 12 weeks old now; she likes my dads cavalier king Charles who is 5 but has not met any other dogs yet other than at the patries as we have been waiting on her second vaccination. thanks in advance

Sounds normal to me. She is likely excited and wanting to meet the other dogs. They do play a bit rough and can cause people to become concerned. Here is a link on body language that should help you out.

Sounds normal, Loki used to do this too. He's calmed down a bit since then, but every time he was around a dog he'd make a whiny noise because he wanted to play. And according to everyone here, Staffs do play rough, so I'd say that's normal too

Re: socialisation....
I think so. When Callie started day care they nicknamed her Callie the Dominator and Callie the Instigator. Her first play date with her sister was pretty rough too. But they learn manners quickly...I do think Staffs play rougher than other dogs until they do, though. No worries.

Sounds like normal behaviour to me. Staffy do tend to play quite rough and sound very vocal too. Try to get her to sit when meeting new friends and take some treats along with you, these will become very useful.

Re: socialisation....
Def normal thats a staffy noise! At the puppy parties i went to play time was mixed so that the more "livley" dogs played with each other alone first and gradually introduced the more timid dogs so they all knew how to get along despite shape and size.
As soon as shes fully vacced take here everywhere, pet shops, markets and parks as she will have so much to learn from other dogs of all ages and sizes.
