Traing! Empty Traing!

So off to training we went Kong toy in hand. Molly was brilliant if not a little distracted by all the other dogs Wink

Any techniques for keeping her attention on me?

Also when dogs bark she gets incredibly scared, tail between her legs and full flight reactions in place! Is this just a matter of being around barking dogs more or her becomng more confident generally? I don't want her thinking barking is all right but I don't want her to be so afraid.

I have never been to training myself but I guess it all takes time, if its the first session then Molly is bound to get a little excited Smile

The main reason I've signed her up to training is for the socialisation side and I enjoy going I going Smile

As Janey said, it all takes time. The more socialisation with dogs she has, the less threatening they will seem to her.

She is still very young so you just need to be patient and consistent - she will get there!

Good luck Smile

When I went to puppy classes there was a tiny Jack Russell puppy called Bobby. First class he didn't do anything, he sat hiding under the chair terrified the entire time. The next class, he participated. The next one, he actually walked up to Loki with his tail wagging, wanting to play. He made huge improvements each week just from getting used to it. There's not much you can really do to help her get less nervous, just let her get over it in her own time, which she will. I will say, don't make a fuss of her or try to comfort her when she's scared though. As for the barking, every time another dog barks, we give Loki a treat (if he doesn't bark) and it's worked. He's never barked at another dog, even if the other dog barks. Actually he has once or twice, but not since then. So maybe do that?
