Locating a reputable breeder

I am new to the message board!!! My girlfriend and I are ready for the commitment of a dog together. We are both life long dog owners (her mixes, me Shar Peis). After some researching and heated debates, we both agreed that an SBT is the perfect breed for us. Problem is I am not sure how to locate a reputable breeder in my area. I live in the USA Philadelphia, PA, and I willing to travel to pick-up a puppy to avoid the cost of shipping (I was already quoted at $900 USD). If anyone knows of a quality breeder in the Tri-State area I would be greatful for their contact information.

I posted a reply, but it didn't post so here we go again. I'm in California and have a 6 month old Staffy named Bacon. This forum has been AMAZING!

I would recommend you check out the breeder list from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America. Here is a link to which has a pdf list of breeders by state.

I purchased mine from a breeder here in California and really liked them. They still keep in touch with me regarding my pup and I like that.

There are some other members who are on the East Coast that probably direct you to some breeders closer to you. Good luck on your search for a Staffy!!!

Our breeder is outside Baltimore...though I doubt she plans another litter this year. We think the world of her and I know she has placed dogs all over (Callie's 2 sisters in NYC I believe). Google Moonstruck Staffords.

There's another Baltimore member with a gorgeous boy Onyx from I think Massie Staffys in VA...right?
