Anything else he needs?
So it's just over a week until we bring Conan home (EXCITED! ) I've been out shopping and bought him quite a few things and I'm panicking now incase I've forgotten anything.
So we've bought.
Adjustable Collar and lead, Dog Bowls, Crate, 2 different kong toys, a stag bar, Boomer ball, 2 rope toys, a few teddys, nappy bags, blankets, Doggy bed, puppy pads and ID tag.
I wanted to buy him an adjustable harness too but they all seem to come in different sizes and I haven't a clue which one to get.
Haven't bought food yet as I need to ask the breeder what he's on atm.
Was also wondering what treats are the best buy and what to stuff the kongs with?

Sounds like you've got it covered. You can use peanut butter for the kong. We use veggies for snacks.

Can I just give him normal peanut butter from the supermarket or does it have to be a organic type one?jstaff wrote:Sounds like you've got it covered. You can use peanut butter for the kong. We use veggies for snacks.

Normal peanut butter is fine. We don't really stuff hers much much any more and used to use a veggie mush. You also may want to ask the breeder if you can bring a blanket or something to get his litter mates scent on to help him settle the first couple of nights.

That's good idea. Other than that, you seem to have it just about covered.
I wouldn't worry about a harness just yet - get him used to a collar & lead first. You won't be taking him out for a few weeks yet anyway.

I'll ask about the blanket tomorrow, I'm sure they won't mind.
The lady in the petshop said the same thing about the harness. By the time he's had all his injections he'll probably have outgrown it anyway.

Not decided on the Policy yet, We've got him booked in the vets 3 days after we bring him home. They do a "Puppy Package" for £50. You get all the vacs, flead, wormed, microchip and 4 weeks free insurance, so we where planning on looking through all the different policies sometime next week.

You can't insure until he's 8 weeks old, anyway. Might as well do it the day he turns 8 weeks.

The sooner the better because alot of companies won't cover any prexisting conditions.
