Who has a really big Staffy?

Met a massive pied Staffy walking today...he was proportioned just like a male Staff, not leggy like a pit, but huge. Owner said 70 lbs, AKC and UKC full staff. Gorgeous dog, great shape (not fat), typical Staffy smile and and goofy, licky personality...but has anyone ever seen one this big?

One of the biggest Staffy's ive seen is Jabba's Dad, he isn't very tall but built like a brick sh*thouse with a head as wide as a garden shovel. I reckon he would be pushing 28-30kgs easy seeing as though Jabba is only 14 months old & weighs 20kg already & he isn't anywhere near as big & solid as his dad

With out a pic it's difficult to judge. Kenny's classed as a "top size Staff" in the show world. He's 18 inchs and weighs 21kg. He looks all balanced.

That does seem very large.

Luke in that photo of your dad's staff, he doesn't look fat.

My youngest is a big girl. I was looking at some pics of her sire and grandsire's and realsied that she has the same barrel chest and genes.

She weighs around 21kg

Ty is big even though he is a tad heavier than he should be. Currently slimming down at 23Kg

He is overweight. In the pic it doesn't really show but he is fairly fat, He has fits all the same and can't walk very far so isn't in the greatest of shape

My Scooby is 18" and 21kilos, all in proportion and a stunner

My boy is massive. He is between 18 and 19 inches with a massive head. I haven't had weighed for a while but would guess that he is well over 25 kg.

His mum's sides are all kc reg staffs (his mum is a beautiful red show winner), but his dad's grandfather or great grandfather (can't remember which) is a mastiff. Out of the 7 pups in his litter, Charlie was the biggest by a massive margin and thank god for that because it saved him from the infection that killed all his siblings by the time they were a month old, he seems to be the only one who took after his grandad.

Charlie is a couple inches taller than average, but he's not overly leggy and he's very muscly. His head is definitely bigger than an average staff but other than that he just looks like a big staff.

Cairo is quite big for a female.She weighs roughly 21kg and is quite leggy

Biscuit's pretty big for a girly too, she's 22kg at a good weight but it does fluctuate a little, she's a crossbreed though so not sure if it counts!

Skye looks quite fat. She's a big girl, but since she had her litter last year, her belly just never pinged back into place, despite excersise. It's loose and her teets just hang. Maybe she needs a tummy tuck!

Yes, much much too big for a stafford! I'm not saying it isn't one, but there has to have either been something else introduced way back in the pedigree or the breeders have been selectively breeding for size. It's way over the top, especially when you consider that my EBT is only 28.5 kilos, and he isn't a small EBT. That dog must have been close to 32 kilos!

I wouldn't want one that size myself.

My Harv is 17.2 inches tall and weighs 23 kg and really lean at that!

Dempsey's a middleweight EBT. There are some that reach over 90lb, but they're too big, really. He was bigger than that, he did weigh 32kilos, but I felt he was too heavy & got some weight off him.

Harvey's a big boy all round as well, but he isn't 70lb (32kilos)!

Jelly is 16 inches tall and weighs 35 lbs/16 kg. She's nearly 7 months. Her Dad was a big blue staffy like Michele described, maybe not 70 lbs but quite solid and large, and her Mom wasn't exactly small either. We think she must have something else in her line like a lurcher because she's very leggy, thin and lean, on the way to having a barrel chest and very FAST

Bauer hes 19in and weights 29 kg and theres not a drop of fat on him..

I had two staffys as of yesterday i only have one! i had a male and a female... the female the smallest staffy you will ever see... she is tiny 2 years old and is smaller than some pups really nice dog though!!! but saxon who sadly had to be re-homed due to me having to move house and not having enough time for him was huge he is chocolate brown brindle and weighs 25.3kilos the last time i weighed him! all down to diet and exercise... being the reason he had to go because i didnt have time to walk him as much as i used to and he was beginning to get a little depressed i think.. i will put some pictures up as soon as i get a chance really lovely dog! absolutely heartbroken. His father was a blue staff so he is a blue gene carrier... but he took on his mothers coat and is a gorgeous chocolate brown brindle! Mine is 7 months old quite tall for his breed he's pedigree blue and his dad was tall and massive .
Only 7 months and is now weighing at 24kg
Biggest boy I've seen can't wait to see how big he will get

Yours really looks huge, are you sure he’s Staffordshire bull terrier and not an American Staffordshire terrier ?

Can anyone clear up what is a true staffy, short legged,long legged, short nose, long nose, irish staff, american staff, pitbull etc! Mine is nearly 11 weeks and pretty big already!

Firstly, is your staff a KC registered dog? Were the parents registered?

If yes to both, then no problem, your pup is a Stafford.

Sizes vary, and some are 'terrier type' and some are 'bully type'.

What were the parents like?

So many questions!

Dad was kc registered or so i was told, I was more concerned with the mum and dad being family pets and of a good temperament which they was.

Beautiful pup btw Katy is of bully type & 18" to the shoulder, length 25" & chest girth 33" Her parents were staffies but not KC obviously I only have the measurements to hand as I just bought her a new coat!
