Re: puppy age
Isn't it something like 7 dog years to 1 human year or is that a complete myth?!

Re: puppy age
7 years of age is a general rule. At 10 months they normally do tend to act out a bit and seem to forget their training which everyone calls the teenage phase.

Re: puppy age
Hi,
I've read - I think it was here quite recently - that their first year counts for more - it should be around 15 human years. So at 10 months he will be a teenager already
It depends on size of the breed as well, if I remember well small breeds mature faster etc., I am not an expert, though

Re: puppy age
So many different views!
I've always gone by a dog reaching puberty at about 6 or 7 months old, so the equivalent of an early teen at around 8 or 9 months old. Then, from about 12 months it's around one of our years = 7 of theirs.

Re: puppy age
I heard that the first year is worth 2 dog years - so 14 years, and every year after is one dog year - 7 years.
So at nearly a year old, your dog in dog years is actually almost 14 - hence the 'teenage phase'.
But as you can see from above, there are different views on this. But typically, between 7-8 months and 18-20 months, dogs seem to take a million steps back and drive us nuts for a while. When they reach maturity at around 18-24 months, they calm down again. Thank god!!
