Will it ever end
An update on Caley...
Poor little mite it has been never ending. So after the emergency trip to vet on Sunday and she was put on all sorts of medication the Monday morning she was OK, playing a bit and eating her rice and chicken, I had hoped that was the sign of her getting better, but no, come Tuesday morning, she was on my lap and started shuddering again, 5 mins before I was about to feed her she was sick, I phoned the vets who told me to bring her straight in, they examined her and said that she had no temperature, was hydrated and was very alert, they said that it could be where the infection is just trying to get out and where the sickness jab they gave her Sunday night had worn off she might be feeling a bit sick. So they gave her another sickness jab.
So back home we went and she perked up for the rest of the day and ate her chicken and rice fine, Wednesday all day she really livened up charging around, nipping at everyone, Vet told us to keep her in for few days so had to cope with her being a nutter - but I was happy to see it.
Now this morning, I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence and a blip, but she got up this morning happy as anything, had a sleep on my lap for 20 mins and was fine - no shuddering - started playing, I gave her her chicken and rice and added 6 bits of her dry food (under vets orders to slowley introduce her normal food), anyway I popped upstairs to get ready for work and told my son to keep an eye on her, 10 mins after eating I get a shout she had pooped in the conservatory, poop was fine, a little soft but tons better than the chronic diarrohea we had. During this moment my son had grabbed her and lifted her to keep her from getting to the poop, I told him to take her outside whilst I cleaned up, within seconds of being outside she had brought up some of her rice and chicken that she had just eaten - she came back inside and started running around playing and biting my trousers again, since then she has had a good sleep, eaten again and played quite happily. Do you reckon this was down to either 1) my son grabbing her around her stomach so soon after eating or 2) the dry food we put in - I know her belly is probably still sensitive from her being unwell with a stomach bug but I can't help but feel paranoid all the time - I can hardly concentrate at work.
Sorry for the lenghty message.

The only way to know for sure is to tell your son to leave her alone for a little while after eating and try her again with a little of her dry food.
If she is sick again, or has the runs again, i would be inclined to think it is something in the food that is upsetting her stomach and I would change it.

Don't worry, I was a paranoid freak when it came to out first dog, ran to the vet with every litle ailment, but through that you learn what to look out for. Not so pedantic with Maska and Loki.
The sick could have been from picking her up quickly, or maybe too tightly around the tummy. Loki did the same when she had a stomach bug, we thought she was sniffing to go for a loo break, and as soon as we picked her up she got sick.
It should settle from here, as should her tummy, but if she does continue to get sick on a regular basis I would rather suggest to get back in touch with the vet, alternatively it might be someting in the food that is upsetting her digestive system
Hope it gets better, but they usually bounce back quite quickly. Also, if she plays and is alert its a good sign.

Re: Will it ever end
Try giving her a little boiled white fish instead of chicken. Many dogs are chicken intolerant.

The fish suggestion by Caryll is a good one.
Also, just wondering what she's wormed with? Could be giardia...

Re: Will it ever end
Caley was absolutely fine after the sickness yesterday morning, back to playing and nipping (I think teething is commencing), she ate chicken and rice the rest of the day and has had it again this morning and has been fine, I am just hoping this is the end to the worse of it...I will be glad when we can take her out for walks again as her energy is seriously building up again lol
Thank you for all your help, we will be keeping an eye on her diet to see if there is anything that could trigger her stomach off
