Finally Some Progress :D
Loki, like any puppy, is a demon when he wants to play, all the biting and chewing and everything. When he's calm he listens to me very well, but when he's in that mood he doesn't listen to a single word I say. Very frustrating and exhausting. Anyway, today I noticed he was coming to me when I called him even without treats, he'd stop biting things when I told him to, and he's just generally being more resonsive than he has been when he's hyperactive. This is probably boring to everyone else, but I'm so happy to see him making progress with those things already when he's never listened to me before, so I thought I'd share my happiness ...

It's really nice when you see that the training's having an effect!
All you've got to put up with now is the teenage years!

It's not boring at all, it's great when we see them start to make progress and actually listen to us. Well done Loki

I share your happiness, as it is the little things that give the connection,
Stay on top of it, so good when the first few commands/communication are responsive, I am being tested atm with Jaxx so yes false sense of security in human terms, but they will play always.

I know exactly how you feel. Even the smallest bit of progress make you proud, but i think at some point, after much persistanceand patience, things just sort of snap into place.
Well done Loki

Thanks, everyone. When is this dreaded teenager phase and how can it possibly be any worse than the madness I experience already? Lol.

Depends on the dog really. Suki started around 6 or 7 months. She "forgot" everything we taught her, went back to pulling on the lead, chewing things she shouldn't and just generally causing us to about loose our minds.
You just have to go back to basics and not let things slide and it should be better in a month or so.
