eating concrete
hi all last night lola ate the concrete off the corner off the wall in the kitchen.
she does have a cage but we dont lock her in at night but have a stair gate up so she has all the kitchen, she knows her cage is her bed thou and normally just chills out in there.
i cant see it being boredom as she has lots off toys to play with.
any ideas

Re: eating concrete
7 weeks old they will chew anything , I don't know if you have different feelings but i would say leave the wandering for through the day and lock her in on an evening whilst you still have a kitchen. You also have to think , is the kitchen puppy proof could she get into a cupboard for example and chew a bottle of bleach

She'll probably go back to that spot as well now to have another go so at the least you need to get a repellant to discourage her from chewing there again

I agree with dave, i would let her have the run of the place during the day when she can be supervised more.

Must be a puppy thing, my pup used to chew/gnaw on a concrete paving slab in the garden. Crazy pup, I dis discourage it and would tell him no and offer the stagbar which ge won't leave alone now !

Re: eating concrete
They seem to be attracted to anything they shouldn't have; my pup has about 10 different things to chew on, but he'll dive for the phone. Just tire her out a lot during the day and just before it's time for her to go to bed, hopefully she'll be too tired out to care. How about chewbones? Especially flavoured ones. Maybe she'll decide she likes it better than concrete.
