Feeding The Right Diet
Jess is 3 years old and i am wondering what food to feed her..She is'nt what i would call a big dog but she is fit as a flea. The previous owner told me she was fed dried food,i tried her on it but she barely touched it.I am now feeding her wet food...plus she has treats sometimes..i just want to know how much i should give her and will she be alright on wet food alone.she does'nt seem to like doggie biscuits either..i just wanna make sure she is getting enough...how many tins etc.
Any Advice Gratefully Excepted

Re: Feeding The Right Diet
What brand do u feed her on ?
For example I feed my 2 on Wainwrights Complete. They gave the Trays of food. They both love it, it's hypoallergenic and is good for them.
Ideally u want a high meat content food... The one I use is 65% meat... Ud be surprised some of the shitty ingredients in the cheap foods ...and some as low as 4% meat content, the rest is fillers.
Go with the best you can afford...OR, Raw feed

Re: Feeding The Right Diet
I'm not a fan of feeding a purely wet diet, I prefer them to have some sort of kibble or raw as it helps there teeth and gums by chewing, could you try a different brand? I had to switch off JWB as Moo wouldn't eat it and she is Fish4Dogs now and loves it. Or you could mix the wet and kibble.

Re: Feeding The Right Diet
I have copied in the link below to a list of dry foods recommended on the forum, if you decide to go down that road. As for wet food weigh your dog and go with the guideline amounts on the tin, bearing in mind they are only guideline amounts :

Re: Feeding The Right Diet
I'd try not to feed wet only. It's about 90% water, so you have to feed a lot more than dry & there are very few 'good' tinned foods!
