GETTING MY PUP TOO DRINK MORE WATER ??????

has anybody got any advice of getting my 5 month old male staff to drink more water i have tried putting a drop of milk in but he just makes a pig of himself and ends up being sick ive put treats in his waterbowl but he just fishes it out and doesnt bother with the water he has a drink wen i have walked him but other than that he isnt really fussed on it and wonder if ther is any thing i could put in too make it more appealing too him ????. am i worrying too much about it. he isnt dehydrated from what i can tell and is perfectly healthy. please help ??????

Some dogs don't drink a lot and some drink excessively. Your pup will know its own body and drink as and when it needs to, you don't need to force it.

i just worry about my dogs a little too much i just wanted too check peoples veiws on this. thank you for the response it has stopped me worrying lol

j_nolan scarlett (my doggie) doesnt drink much i was worried at first but she does drink every now and then so dont worrie yourself silly

Agree they are all different. If he isn't drinking anything at all than you should take a trip to the vet

i think its because he dosent drink as much as my older dog and i just worry wen it comes too my dogs lol thanks its put my mind at rest now

as long as water is available to him and he knows where it is,he be fine,sasha does'nt drink that much unless its hot,they are a worry

Tilly doesn't drink because she's too lazy to get off the bed , if it's warm through the night we kick her off and flick her with water until she gives up and drinks some, but most of the time she just saves a few little trips into one big drinking session and then just jumps back on the bed with a big contented burp and goes back off to sleep

as stella said, ur pup needs to know where it is. zeus's water bowl is in his crate, whenever he needs some he goes there and has it. some days he has alot, some days not so much. like the previous post said, ur pup will know when it needs water an have some.

when we first brought Winston home as a 6 week old puppy the previous owner and their vet had been worried because he really didn't drink much water..... however that must just have been his make up. He drinks more now of course, but compared to my old boy Jethro, there is no comparison..Jethro drinks gallons!!
