Had enough!
Right i've finally had enough of 'JWB poos' and on the advice of the lovely janey am switching Gabbi to Fish4Dogs!
So... how do i do it?
Do I just go from one to the other or does it have to be done gradually?!
If it has to be done gradually, how would you recommend doing it and why?! (If it's just so she will eat it, that WON'T be a problem )
Cheers guys!

Re: Had enough!
It's usually best to change over gradually over about a week. Otherwise they can get bad stomachs (and I think you've probably had enough of that! ).
I use a small bag of fish4dogs as treats for Dempsey & he loves them.

So there is a reason, cheers Caryll... so how do I do it - I thought mixing different kibble together was a 'no no' or is that in the long-term rather than a changeover period?

Re: Had enough!
You'll be fine just gradually mix Fish4Dogs into the JWB I did it over a week and just gradually ran out of JWB and she was soley on Fish4Dogs.
I really hope you see an improvment

Re: Had enough!
There isn't a problem mixing them together, just reduce the old one by about a quarter, or little bit less, and add the same amount of the new one. It doesn't take very long for their stomachs to adjust, but it saves a few days of the runs!
The big no-no for mixing is raw & kibble.

Here's hoping janey!
Caryll - I thought I'd read it somewhere, must have got confused! - I still have about 8kg of JWB left!! So will probably introduce it over a week or so and see if the RSPCA wants the rest...

If you don't do this they can be quite stinky for a week or so

Re: Had enough!
We changed Rocky's food over about a year ago from one to another. We did have loads of the first one left so we took it to Woodgreen animal rescue centre, thats where Rocky came from, we just bagged it up (with a description of what it was with a best before date from the original packaging) and gave it as a food donation. I'm sure someone would be pleased to receive it.

Thanks kathy - I've got loads left, probably about 7kg, and have arranged to take it to RSPCA Burton tomorrow... at least it'll be something for her brother, Max, to eat
