had my little baby on the sofa we were playing as usual and he just bit my nose. (the first time he has gone for a face). i picked him up and put him in the kitchen saying kitchen while i had hold of him. He's not my first puppy but it's a long time since ive had a dog. how do i combat the biting. keep telling him no which doesnt work the ouch thing works some times

Hi Dan. A very firm 'Ah Ah' and a timeout is all you need. Staffs are very much people oriented and hate to be ignored so timeout with absolutely no contact should help. He'll soon get the message. Good luck.

I've always turned around and ignored them. If on the couch I get up and leave. It takes a little time and consistancy but they do learn.

If you try ignoring make sure and do it as soon as he nips, don't talk at all except to say no and then he should know that it's that action you're reacting to and not just being off for no reason. Good luck!
