Badly cut paw!!!
I had rocko at the park yesterday i spotted some glass on the path and took him onto grass, when we got home i noticed him licking and biting his paw and some blood thats when i realized he must have cut his paw on grass, i bandaged his paw up the bleeding has stopped but the pad still looks quite bad and when he licks it hes whining as if he's in agony. hes got vets at end of week but not sure if i should book him in sooner.
photos below thanks for any advice.

Poor baby.
You could try ringing your vet to see what they think.
I'm not sure what you can do for the paw other than keep it clean & "TRY" to keep it covered as much as possible (I know nearly impossible) with any dog.

You probably need to look for glass slivers. They can be really hard to see and push in further and further making it more painful. I have had them and they are a bear! If they are there it will most likely get infected. One way to check is with a flashlight. The downside is that you have to open the wound a bit to look for them. It is easier said than done. Hope it is just the pain and nothing is in there.

Re: Badly cut paw!!!
Bathe the paw in saline solution (salt and water). That will help prevent infection.

Re: Badly cut paw!!!
poor thing. hope he is okay..
I remember my last dog Kimba cut his paw.. couldn't believe how much it bled... good luck trying to keep it bandaged!
Another good antiseptic is diluted peroxide...

Re: Badly cut paw!!!
Moo did the same thing last year, but it was her claw not her pad. I went to the vets and saw a nurse, they bandaged it and she had to keep it on for nearly 2 weeks as we had to go back every other day to have it re-dressed, and as it was onver the xmas period and with all the bank hols it took ages but I never got charged
Hope all is ok Xx

Re: Badly cut paw!!!
i would take him to the vet with it now he could have glass stuck in it and the vet will make sure it closes properly by the end of the week it could be starting to heel

Re: Badly cut paw!!!
I think a trip to the vet is the best route. Could be glass or something inside.

Re: Badly cut paw!!!
thanx 4 all the replises.
we have looked in with a light there seems to be no glass as the glass on the path was green beer bottles.
going to bathe it in salt water 2day and put clean dressing on it.
